Looking to get my 9yr old started. I have a Kohler XKE 6.5 hp motor. Is there a class/group in which he can race this motor? Thanks for your help.

In schanchoned racing, meaning in the big snow X or Oval series, ISR rules are followed. There is a variety of classes ranging from stock to Improved Stock, Pro Stock and Champ. All use different rules for modifcations but are based on the 120 OEM engines. Some independant races do have open or outlaw classes in which other engines are allowed. You would have to check with the races you are looking at going too.

Thanks for your response. Sorry for the confusion, but I was referring to go kart racing. Is there a class my 9 yr old can race this motor at Badger Raceway? Thanks.

There is not a class at badger for the Kolher if your looking for weekly points racing. The 4 cycle classes here use WKA rules and Briggs engines. If you want to get it out and get some laps on it certianly you are welcomeWed-Sat for practice days. Sun. you could run it in the expert class, just to get out on the track
