Any of the OEM spec's call for .004 -.006. That number is fine for trail riding/playing around. For performance we set them at "barley snug" meaning the rocker will still move a hair on the stem when cold. The difference here is you set lash when the engine is cold, both the head and block grow or get taller as the engine reaches operating temp. Setting them snug means once hot, they will be .006. Starting at .006 means they will open even further when hot. Neither setting will hurt the engine but if racing there is a little power to be found in having them end up at .006
