Well, what did everyone think? I heard alot of coments about the track being small, I know it was a problem and they did try to fix it. I think moving the track to the center of all the other racing will go a long way to bringing the attention to the kids they deserve. I think the problems can be worked out

Eagle River was a disappointment. I was truly hoping to see more members from every group come together to make it a true World Championship. However, the biggest disappointment was the track. How would anbody expect our kids to safely run a race on a track smaller than a hockey rink. For the past few years there was a track built outside of the grounds so they should of known how big to build it or could looked in a ISR book. I don't think the Derby Track people understand or maybe don't care about how much money, time, and dedication it takes our families with these small sleds and have forgotten that these young kids are the future of their race track and fans.

I actuly think the Derby people do care. I understand the issues with the track and hope that can be improved on for next year. I think the move to the center of the grounds was an attempt to bring the kids more in with the big track racers and the spectators. and I think thats important Several weeks ago I was involved in a dicussion on a board many of the adult oval racers frequent. After bringing it up I was suprized to see many people did not even know about the kids racing on the same weekend as the Derby. Since people come from all over 2 countries for this race, I can only think exposure to this many people would be a big help bringing new kids into the different series from all over. I was actuly kinda suprized that these series didn't make more of an attemp to promote what they have to offer, Not very often you get to advertize to a group of sled people that large and it wouldn't have cost anything to have yor flyers out on a table. I'm sure the ER crew is aware of the issues and thinking what they can do in the future. I do not know if there is one host club for the kid races at this event, maybe that is what is needed is for someone from the KK/120 world to sit down with ER and define what is needed and what is possible

being involved in kitty cat & 120 oval racing for over 10 years my thoughts are the track should have been checked by the club officers a head of time, so if there was a problem something could have been done earlier than Friday nite. Its a great thing to have the kids race that close to the big guys and be seen by more people.
